<\/a><\/p>\nThe South African recital will begin on the 2<\/span>nd<\/span><\/sup> of February, at 20.00 at the Wits Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg. A broad range of pieces has been chosen. The concert will open with Beethoven\u2019s Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13, commonly known as the Sonata Path\u00e9tique, a true masterpiece in its style, melody and expression. The concert will go on with a composition by Gy\u00f6rgy Ligeti from <\/span>Musica Ricercata<\/span><\/i>, a set of 11 movements, the last of which is dedicated to Baroque composer Girolamo Frescobaldi, a pioneer in the field of <\/span>ricercare<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n A complex choice of contemporary music that, in the first movement, is only formed of two notes; as the music develops, a new note is added in each movement as Ligeti explores the hidden depths within the sounds. The concert will conclude with Chopin\u2019s enchanting Ballade No.3 in A flat major, Op.47 and his Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58.<\/span><\/p>\n On the 9th of January Mariangela Vacatello performed at the prestigious San Carlo Theatre in her home town of Naples, for the first time with great success. <\/span><\/p>\n The young pianist first studied at the Milan conservatory and then went on to the Royal Academy of Music in London followed by work at the Boito conservatory in Parma. For Vacatello, 2019 will be a year rich in commitments. Following the South African tour, she will give a concert in Budapest entirely dedicated to Liszt. Furthermore, a concert is programmed in Venice at the Biennale, and another one at La Scala in Paris. <\/span><\/p>\n When she was a child she was introduced to the magical world of fine music, as both of her parents are musicians. She was weaned on music, she lives for music, which she obsessively and continuously explores and studies.
